Regional Accounts Manager

Job Summary:

The Regional Accounts Manager (RAM) is primarily responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the defined Regional Accounts Sales Plan which includes identifying areas of opportunity and growth for the region, while effectively managing the accounts that are the crucial for success within the assigned region.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage the relationship and the needs of the assigned Regional Accounts including non-construction, retail and construction.
  • Responsible for a book of accounts ranging from 50-75 accounts.
  • Develop, implement, manage and communicate Regional Accounts Sales Plans with the VP of National Accounts and the respective Region Manager
  • Leader of accounts that spend less than $100K/per year and/or travel through multiple branch locations within the assigned region
  • Create and manage assigned account plans and must be capable of adapting account specific programs for a highly-changing retail environment while delivering high growth expectations.
  • Interact with and manage some of the activities of the Inside Sales Reps within the region, as related to the assigned accounts.
  • Must be able to build relationships with a diverse customer base.
  • Grow activations by 25-30% annually over one-year period by adding new customers and growing sales to existing assigned accounts.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize daily, weekly, and monthly regional travel and focus.
  • Participate and lead local and regional sales blitz’s that include the ISM, BM, and ISR for underperforming or under penetrated markets.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience, marketing/product development or management experience in rental industry
  • Minimum of five (5) years in cross-functional business relationships. • Solid analytical skills, financial business acumen, and mature judgment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communications skills. • Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint.
  • Prefer candidate with experience servicing customers in an outside sales role.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and fast pace environment
  • Successful experience in outside sales rep environment on a daily basis (phone calls and face-to-face interaction)
  • Ability to travel required, including overnight and air travel.
  • Overnight travel within the region will be at least 30%.
