Mobile Mini’s Tank and Pump Division is currently seeking an operationally-focused Controller to provide influential leadership in both accounting and finance arenas.

This individual will take overall responsibility for the accounting and finance functions of the Division providing field-based leadership in financial and operational decision making for the business. In addition, this position will take a leading role in implementing Division and Company strategy and driving the financial performance of the company.

What You’ll Do as the Divisional Controller:

  • Create a culture within the Mobile Mini Accounting and Finance organization which fits with the company values
  • Contribute fully to the development of division strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decisions as appropriate, and providing financial advice and guidance on all activities, plans and targets
  • Perform financial models and benchmarking to support Division management in business decisions across all key performance indicators including ad hoc reporting to identify opportunities to increase margins, cut cost, increase flow thru and support management decision
  • Coach and train field management team to improve financial understanding and analysis for decision making including identification of training needs and implementing training classes in a timely manner
  • Lead the financial and operating reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, providing the business with access to the information required to achieve its strategic objectives
  • Contribute to the company’s drive for customer service excellence, providing exceptional levels of internal customer service to our branches, helping them to in turn to the put the customer at the heart of everything we do
  • Establish a high level of credibility and develop strong working relationships with the Service Center functional management by acting as the Division lead/expert for/ other service center departments on IT projects impacting the Divisions financials including ERP and HR changes, payroll, work order, purchasing and billing options.
  • Execute, develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management and control
  • Lead the Division’s annual budgeting and monthly forecast process, working with the Division and Service Center management team to proactively ensure accuracy and address any variances
  • Monitor Division/Region/Branch progression against all action plans to ensure all targets are met and callout misses proactively to Division SVP
  • Help Drive Return on Capital Employed by ensuring strong management of working capital, efficient collection of debts, control of capital expenditure and overheads
  • Act as an agent of change, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, both within the Division and Service Center
  • Ensure Division is following all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Review all Internal Audit findings and ensure plans are in place to correct to meet company standards

What You’ll Need to be a Successful Divisional Controller:

  • 10+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to act as a change agent and drive process improvements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to influence
  • Creative and strategic thinking skills; forward-thinking
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • CPA, MBA a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion and/or Business Intelligence a plus
