Job Profile – Transport Administrator

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire

Reporting to: Branch Manager

Duration: 12 Months fixed contract to cover maternity leave.

Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

Start date: Approx. February 2019

Salary: Up to £18000 DOE + Company Bonus Scheme

Overall Summary: To provide efficient customer service to customers and administration to the branch whilst scheduling and coordinating pickup and delivery of inventory from customer sites.

 

Key Tasks

  • Organise servicing and maintenance of vehicles
  • Effectively routing trucks in a cost efficient manner
  • Liaising with customers in regards to the delivery and collection of units
  • Assist with the Supervision of Drivers
  • Generate work orders, damages, repairs and vehicle accidents per company policy
  • Acquiring vehicle registrations and transportation permits when required
  • Accurate, timely processing of activations and returns paperwork
  • Liaising with Yard Foreman with respect of loading of the vehicles
  • Organising transfer of units between branches
  • Carry out administration duties when required
  • Take personal ownership for the safety of themselves and those around them

Competencies and qualifications

  • Previous Experience in a transport role is essential
  • CPC would be beneficial but not essential
  • Takes the initiative and seeks out additional work wherever possible
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Takes ownership of customer issues and takes immediate action to provide quality service and to promptly deal with any issues
  • Continually looks for opportunities to improve processes and procedures to benefit our customers and the company
  • High level of commitment and flexibility required
  • Is willing to help out other employees
  • Able to work in a team and encourage a supportive family atmosphere
  • Be passionate about providing exceptional customer service
